After my first few days working here at Denodo, I realized that the Denodo Platform is like the conductor’s baton in the orchestra.

Let me explain. If you think about it, the baton is the most powerful instrument in the orchestra. It gives the conductor (who, in my analogy, is the business user) access to all of the instruments in real time. The conductor choses which instrument you hear, when, and for how long. The conductor selects just the right sounds from the orchestral “data set.” The baton is the tool that enables her to do this.

Maestro!

Now, how do we make music?

The Denodo Platform provides real-time access to data using data virtualization. Data virtualization helps business users by enabling immediate access to needed data, without having to first get it moved into a central repository. No longer is data the sole preserve of IT, when data access was governed by IT requests, long lead times, and high costs. Business users can take control of the data, setting up their own views without the need for IT requests.

Also, with data virtualization, organizations can better manage who has access to which data sets and can govern data usage more effectively. This is because, though data virtualization stores no actual data, it does contain rich metadata for accessing the various sources, and this same metadata enables organizations to maintain tight control over data usage.

The Orchestra is Ready

Business users can log into Denodo, open up the data catalog, and see what data is available. They can even use the Denodo search box to find data that is not immediately visible. The end result is a significant reduction in IT time needed for data preparation, the ability for business users to make mission critical business decisions in real time, and the ability for organizations to better control data access, resulting in a higher level of compliance with regulations like the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), and the Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This is why the baton (The Denodo Platform) is the most powerful instrument in your orchestral data set.
