Denodo DataFest 2017 saw an array of international speakers taking to the stage to cover the following themes: data virtualization, in-memory fabric, self-service bi, big data, edge computing and, logical data warehouse. As well as customer and partner interviews there was a chance for attendees to get stuck in with data virtualization and the Denodo Platform at the Hands-On Lab. Tim Grosser, BARC Researcher also chose the Denodo DataFest stage to reveal the latest results from the latest BARC Research Report, BI Trend Monitor. He summed up his presentation, “Trending Topics in BI and Data Management” with 3 key takeaways:

1) BI analytics doesn’t make any sense without a solid data foundation.

2) Put the right culture organ and skills in place to enable collaboration between business and IT.

3) There is high potential in real-time analytics in order to put data into action.

“I think you guys are to be congratulated actually, I know this is the first one you’ve done this here in London. We’ve been a [Denodo DataFest] sponsor, as you know, in the US last year and this year… and just looking at the audience here I think you’ve done a really good job.” – Richard Branch, VP & General Manager, Semarchy

A huge thank you to all those in Denodo DataFest in both New York and London – it couldn’t have been done without you! Were you an attendee at either event? We would love to hear your feedback!

Until next time data ninjas…
